Director of Together, Vice Chair of the Children’s Parliament
Juliet Harris has a strong track record in advancing the human rights of children both at a national and international level. As Director of Together (Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights), she leads an alliance of over 500 members to increase awareness, understanding and implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and other international human rights treaties across Scotland.
In addition to her role as Director of Together, Juliet holds a number of prominent positions in the children’s rights sector. She is the Vice Chair of the Children’s Parliament, a Trustee of the Environmental Rights Centre Scotland, and a founder member of the Observatory of Children’s Human Rights Scotland. She has previously chaired the Rights of the Child UK Coalition and has played an active role in numerous UN Taskforces, including the UN Committee’s Day of General Discussion on Children as Human Rights Defenders. Juliet is also a respected guest lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and has authored a number of publications on children’s rights.
